While the Erudite quote is certainly applicable to Mr. Shatner, it is a direct quote from another, even more fabulous Canadian.

It is indeed Buddy Cole! Well spotted. One of my favourite Kids In The Hall bits.
The Connection is, believe it or not, Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood and Kids In The Hall both got their start on CBC.
