Dead-accurate identifications. Looking for a more solid Connection.

The movie and the man were born in 1942.

Interesting idea for a Connection... Ali was indeed born in '42, but I think Falcon had a 1941 release (although it was up for many awards at the 1942 Oscars, where it got trounced by all sorts of movies I've never heard of.)

Another excellent postulation, but we're looking for something a bit more direct. Morocco may be primarily Muslim, but a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

AHA! It *WAS* a clue! Very astute!

AHA! Wrong answer! (Well, partially wrong...the connection is even firmer than that...)

The Connection was indeed "real names". Muhammed Ali was born Cassisu Marcellus Clay, and Maltest Flacon was directed by John Marcellus Huston.
