Never mind I'm wrong.

The story of Ralphie shooting his eye out happens in The Christmas Story and a book called In God We Trust.

Close enough, C-Bro.

A Christmas Story was based on books by Jean Shepherd, primarily "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash."

"In God We Trust" replaced "E Pluribus Unum" as the motto on US currency.
