My boss, the Town Manager, is retiring this week. He's the one who helped inspire the PCQOTD, and from the beginning has been the strongest supporter of the daily activity. In honour of his retirement, this week I'm pulling the best of the first month of PCQOTD and calling them CLASSIC PCQOTD. (The Erudites are fresh and delicious, though.)
Classic Plebian (from 12/1/04):

Erudite:
