The erudite was so familiar it was driving me crazy until the source just started running through my head. It's a like from I Shot the Sheriff.

I imagine the plebian is a reference to Joe Frasier getting knocked down in a fight. That's all I know about that one because I'm a girl.

Connection: The sheriff most certainly would have fallen down if he had been shot.

I mean, it's a LINE from I Shot the Sheriff. (I'm trying to type with one foot up on my desk.)

That's okay, I usually type with one hand. (Did I just say that?)

Precisely correct on the Identifications, still looking for the right Connection. (If the sheriff had been shot while laying on the couch or perhaps leaning against the wall, he may not, in fact, have fallen down.

Connection: "I SHot The Sheriff" is by Bob Marley, who is from Jamaica. The 1973 Frazier/Foreman fight took place in Jamaica.
