P: Timex Watch Commercials
E: Gloria Swanson as Norma Desmond in Sunset Blvd.

I'm working on the connection.

Correct on both counts! Now about that Connection...

In the same vein, Sunset Boulevard is probably my favourite movie that I've never actually seen. I love the quotes, and loved the Carol Burnette parody. I really want to see it someday.

Perhaps one day I shall come up with a Connection based on alliterative gerunds, but today is not the day. Here's a hint: it's about time.

Can't be as simple as both watches and washed up silents stars having faces, but nothing else springs to mind.

[WTF, Hoopgod, I have to sign up for a Blahgger account to comment? WTF, man?]

Clever idea, and clever punning reference, but not what we're looking for.

I'm stumped. I can't think of a connection at all. The face thing was good. I wish I could say that one crossed my mind.

OK, then: 1950 is the real answer(timex introduced, SB produced). I assume we're not expected to have the former infobit in storage, so a little cheating is allowed.

Well, it hardly worked, did it?

1950 it is. Your research has shown you to be a worthy opponent.
