Erudite: Maxwell House Coffee slogan
Plebian: None other than President Theodore Roosevelt.
The coffee got it's name from the hotel, Maxwell House, from which it was originally served.
Roosevelt, who once sampled the coffee was very impressed with the taste. He exclaimed that the coffee was, "Good to the last drop."
The company that made the coffee began using the slogan for the soon to be called, Maxwell House brand of coffee.
Correct on all counts! Hoorah! I'm going to start making these harder! :-)
