Well, we got Charlie Babbit in Rainman and Hannibal Lechter in Silence of the Lambs, but I'm stumped on the connection.

Both characters are based on real people?

Lisa's nailed the quotes. Were they really based on real people? That would be a cool Connection. I'm looking for something else, though--a trifecta Connection.

Charlie wasn't wearing his own underwear and Buffalo Bill wasn't wearing his own skin.

I must correct myself - It's Raymond Babbit. Charlie was Tom Cruise's character. I knew which one I meant, I just got the names confused.

I am very restless and fidgety today.

Tom Cruise is being talked to in the first quote, and Jodie Foster is being talked to in the second.

Enh, I don't know if this counts as trifecta, but:

Oscar Connestion: Dustin got Best Actor for Rain Man the same year Jodie Foster got Best Actress for The Accused.

Quote Connestion: Jodie Foster once said, "I don't need to be Tom Cruise. I just need to work forever."

Movie Connestion: Anthony Hopkins was in Mission:Impossible 2 with Tom Cruise.

aHA! And the fourth:

Dustin Hoffman turned down the role of Charles Morse in the movie "The Edge," and the man who accepted was Anthony Hopkins.

Ah, how I love Kit FitzSimons. Nobody can conjure up vague connestions like he can.

Oo! And you're SO on the right track with the first part of your quadfecta!

If we're doing Oscar stuff again, both had winners in Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor.

Also, Judge Wapner played a prominent role in both pictures: In Rain Main, Hoffman's character was clearly obsessed with The People's Court. In SOTL, I'm pretty sure Wapner played Buffalo Bill.

Scientology? REally? The things one learns from the PCQOTD.

But yes, Ben nails it with the Oscar trifecta. Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director.

Bufalo Bill was played by Ted Levine who is currently best known as Captain Stottlemeyer on the show 'Monk.'
